All by myself di rilis sebagai single perdana Eric carmen pada bulan desember 1975, setelah ia meninggalkan grup Raspberries. lagu ini berhasil mencapai urutan kedua di tangga lagu Billboard Hot 100, serta nomor 1 di Top 100 singles Cash box dan no.3 di tangga lagu kanada. kepopuleran lagu inipun masih terasa hingga sekarang dengan masih seringnya kita dengarkan dan dinyanyikan oleh para penyanyi di atas panggung. pada tahun 1996 Celine dion membuat cover versionnya dan lagu tersebut berhasil masuk di 10 besar tangga lagu Amerika. lagu tersebut juga sering muncul dalam sebuah film diantarnya Clueless, Dawn of the dead, Shrek 2, dan Bridget jones's diary.
